Bin WANG, Jun HUANG, Shubo DENG, Xiaoling YANG, Gang YU

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2012, Volume 6, Issue 1,   Pages 2-16 doi: 10.1007/s11783-011-0370-y

Abstract: The Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants (POPs) was adopted in 2001.and inventory study of POPs, monitoring and modeling of POPs pollution and exposure, and environmentalrisk assessment and modeling of POPs.The study on the effect of POPs mixtures is in its infancy and currently POPs are usually assessed fromof coupled dynamics between climate processes and POPs.

Jing Gu, Hongtao Yu, Xie Quan, Shuo Chen, Junfeng Niu

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2020, Volume 14, Issue 4, doi: 10.1007/s11783-020-1251-z

Abstract: Abstract • A novel Z-scheme Si-SnO2-TiOx with SnO2 as electron mediator is first constructed. • Transparent and conductive SnO2 can pass light through and promote charge transport. • VO from SnO2 and TiOx improve photoelectrochemical performances. • Efficient photocatalytic degradations originate from the Z scheme construction. Z-scheme photocatalysts, with strong redox ability, have a great potential for pollutants degradation. However, it is challenging to construct efficient Z-scheme photocatalysts because of their poor interfacial charge separation. Herein, by employing transparent and conductive SnO2 as electron mediator to pass light through and promote interfacial charge transportation, a novel Z-scheme photocatalyst Si-SnO2-TiOx (1

Decontamination of Cr(VI) facilitated formation of persistent free radicals on rice husk derived biochar

Kaikai Zhang, Peng Sun, Yanrong Zhang

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2019, Volume 13, Issue 2, doi: 10.1007/s11783-019-1106-7

Abstract:

PFRs were produced on biochar during Cr(VI) decontamination.

PFRs formation on biochar was owing to the oxidization of phenolic-OH by Cr(VI).

Appearance of excessive oxidant led to the consumption of PFRs on biochar.

Biochar charred at high temperature possessed great performance to Cr(VI) removal.
